Francisco D. Fontes, Jr.

Francisco D. Fontes, Jr. of Nogales, Arizona, passed away on April 16, 2010 at the age of 88. He was born on October 10, 1921 in Naco, Sonora, Mexico. Preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Inez; children, Lucinda (Dan), Frank (Irma), Maria Elena (Terry), Minerva (Enrique), Debora (James), and Bernadette (Jim); 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Casilda Elias and Laura Fontes; and brothers, Florentino, Luis, Lorenzo and Tony. Dad was a proud World War II Army veteran. He was one of many soldiers who stormed Omaha Beach in Normandy on D-Day. He was past post commander of VFW Post 2066. A Rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Mass at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010 at San Felipe Catholic Church in Nogales, AZ.
