Alfonso J. Acuna "Al" born February 8, 1957 in Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), passed peacefully on March 5, 2011. In 1970 Al came to the United States with his family and graduated from John Spring Jr. High and Tucson High School, then later obtained his Bachelors from the U of A. After high school, Al proudly served in the U.S. Army. Then with equal pride, he served in the U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security/ICE where he retired as a highly decorated Senior Special Agent. Alfonso will always be a hero to his family and will be deeply missed. He has gone to join his father, Jose and brother, Sergio in heaven. He is survived by his former spouse, Norma and their daughter, Yahaira; former spouse, Berta and their son, Alfonso Jr.; his mother, Celia; brothers, Ramon, Bill, Armando, Oscar; sister, Malena, as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends. Al will never really be gone, as he has impacted each of us in many ways and will continue to live in our hearts. Viewing at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPEL from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. On Sunday, March 13, 2011. Mass at St. Margaret's Church at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2011. His body will be laid to rest at Holy Hope Cemetery.
